​Ms. Holmes, Esq. will talk not only about IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act - Public Law 101-476), the existing federal education law that has an outgoing negative impact on Deaf and hard-of-hearing children in schools, arguing that it is paradoxical and needs to be fixed in eyes of culturally Deaf people, but also ​about why Deaf parents and others in the Deaf community in general continue to have a mistrust in audiologists and speech-language pathologists when it comes to early hearing detection and intervention and remedies for better hearing in hospitals and clinics.  A team of voice interpreters will be present.
